Mr. GriggsMr. William Griggs

Fort Smith Radiation Oncology’s June Patient Spotlight is Mr. William Griggs of Fort Smith.  Born and raised in Fort Smith, Mr. Griggs is a graduate of Northside High School and Westark Community College (now known as UAFS).  He worked for the Fort Smith Fire Department for 28 years.  Since retiring 10 years ago, Mr. Griggs enjoys carpentry.

Mr. Griggs has been married for 40 years  and raised two sons.  He and his wife now enjoy spending time with his 3 grandchildren- all boys! His wife dreams of a sweet granddaughter :) Mr. Griggs said that his wife has been the greatest support system to him.  She has taken really good care of him through his surgery and recovery.

Mr. Griggs was diagnosed with his prostate cancer by Dr. Landers of Cooper Clinic.  Dr. Landers referred him to Dr. Wahmen, a long time local urologist, who suggested surgery with post operative radiation therapy.

Mr. Griggs is a pleasure to visit with everyday and he told us that he is very happy with his care at Fort Smith Radiation Oncology and he has great faith in Dr. Kris Gast.  He is happy to see her as an independant doctor thrive in Fort Smith.  He is a big supporter of locally owned businesses and is proud to have his radiation treatment here at FSRO.  We are just as proud to have him as a patient!
